Your Initial Consultation

Glasgow:  Diana Kras BA (Hons) Psy, Dr.SCI., BSc (Hons) Comp. Health Sc., PGDip(Ayurvedic Medicine)

Midlands: Susan Lincoln BSc(Hons) Comp. Health Sc., PGDip(Ayurvedic Medicine) is based in South Leicestershire.

Both are professional teachers of Transcendental Meditation™ with over 30 years teaching experience.

Step 1: Complete a consultation questionairre which is available online and can be emailed directly or sent in the post to your Ayurveda4all physcian.

From this and from seeing you in person the physician can identify your vikruti – imbalances – and can treat accordingly.  An Ayurvedic diagnosis also involves a traditional pulse diagnosis.

Treatment may include:-

  • de-toxification
  • massage and other therapies.
  • diet, digestion and nutrition
  • lifestyle including exercise/ yoga/relaxation/meditation
  • herbal preparations

A treatment programme will be advised between the first and second consultations depending upon the severity of the initial presenting complaint and your responses. This may be modified over the year as the seasons change and your condition alters. This as the start of an ongoing programme where we work together to achieve the best state of health for you that is possible. Short ongoing seasonal consultations two to four times a year are recommended.

Ayurvedic consultations are beneficial for everyone, irrespective of age, for the prevention and treatment of disease and promotion of optimum health.

What will you go home with:

You will go home with some practical advices which should feel comfortable for you to achieve within a few weeks when most people return for their next visit.  Choose one or two things to integrate into your daily routine within the next few days as is comfortable.  At the next meeting and we can focus on the really most critical items and prioritise things, especially when everything has not been achieved.

You will also most likely be advised to take two or three specific herbal preparations for a minimum of three months.  [Please advise on budget restrictions].  Sometimes these have immediate effects, for others the effects may not be so dramatic so may take some time to be noticeable.

Most people should notice some improvements within one month although in certain long term complaints this may take longer.  Sometimes an improvement initially may be noticed in an unexpected manner.  It all depends on the nature of the imbalance.  Then you learn how to recognise how to prevent yourself going out of balance again.

Ayurveda is rarely an instant miracle cure, we need to respect that the complaint may have taken years to develop through us not respecting or even being aware of those inner signs of slight discomfort.  Nature's way of advising us that we are doing something harmful.  However we can learn to listen to these inner cues and move forward from where we are now.  Nearly everything we say to you, you should feel like coming home. It is knowledge that you have always known and know you will feel better heeding.
